How to prepare PDF correctly?

  • Print into PS file, then transferred by Akrobat Distiller to PDF.
  • PDF should be a composite one, not a separated one.
  • PDF meeting the specifications PDF/X-4, PDF/X-3, PDF/X-1a.
  • PDF pages should have an overlap of 3 mm, correctly defined page boxes.
  • Net size must be accurately centred in the PDF document.
  • All the fonts used must be inserted in the PDF document.
  • PDF document must be in CMYK.
  • When defining colour, choose English characters: light_red (no diacriticals).
  • Names of documents must be entered only in English, do not use any Czech characters, instead of spaces use the character _.
  • PDF pages must be in order in which they are supposed to be. No double pages.
  • Correct numbering of pages: str_001.....str_058.
  • Bitmap resolution should be chosen according to the printing grid density:
    • 150 lpi-300 dpi
    • 175 lpi-320 dpi
    • 200-340 lpi-350 dpi
  • Line blocks - 1,200 dpi
  • Lower resolution - worse resulting quality.
  • For correct rejection we need a model.
  • The profile of the output intention should be set in such a way to correspond the determined print conditions:
    • for glossy or matt art paper - ISOCoated v2 or CoatedFOGRA39
    • for white offset paper - ISOUncoated or UncoatedFOGRA29
    • for slightly yellowish offset paper - ISOUncoated Yellowish
